Italian Oregano (Origanum vulgare) has been used for centuries for a whole slew of maladies including, but not limited to, the common cold and flu. Our Oregano plants are growing in 4″ pots and prefers a sunny spot; however, in zone 7 and farther south, it benefits from a little afternoon shade. Oregano spreads easily; in late spring, cut it back to one-third of its size in order to make the plant bushier. In milder climates (zone 8 and southward), oregano is evergreen. In zone 7 and northward, protect plants with mulch through the winter, or cover them with a cold frame. Small plants in containers can be moved indoors for the winter. Cut out dead stems in the spring before the plants begin new growth. USDA hardiness zones 5-10. Can be grown indoors or outdoors
Swiss Mint (Mentha x piperita ‘swiss’). Mints have been used in traditional medicine to treat a variety of ailments for many years including cold and flu. Our Swiss Mint plants are growing in 4″ pots and does well in zones 4-9. Requires similar growing conditions to oregano. Please note that mint plants are tough and can spread quickly. If you want to keep it contained we recommend either keeping an eye on its spread or growing it in a pot.
Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is an incredible plant. It’s health benefits are numerous! From lowering one’s risk of heart disease to easing symptoms of depression. She can do it all!! Our Turmeric plants are growing in 4x4x6″ pots. Turmeric can be grown in a container in any zone. Learn how >here<
West Indian Lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus) is used as an anti-inflammatory, to lower blood pressure, and for its antioxidant properties. Our lemongrass plants are growing in 3x3x9″ pots and like to grow in full sun, with plenty of water, in a rich, well-draining soil. It can be grown in a pot or in the ground. It is a tender perennial, hardy only in Zones 9-10. Where temperatures dip below 20°F in the winter, Lemon Grass should spend the summer outdoors but be brought in for the winter. You can either plant it in the ground (after the last frost in spring) and then pot it and bring it indoors before the first fall frost, or you can grow it in a pot year round.
