Very large golden skinned, apple has crisp tender flesh that is sweet and excellent for fresh eating and desserts. Similar to Golden Delicious, but larger, crisper and of higher dessert quality. Heavy annual bearing trees are vigorous and have a strong wide angled limb growth habit. Ripens in late fall, it is a chance seedling found near Myrtle Point, OR and released to the public in 1947 by J. E. Miller.
