MultiColor Camo Tamarillo Rare (Organic)

$18.00

We sourced this very rare Tamarillo seed from the Santa Cruz Rare Fruit Growers.  This crazy  Tamarillo is noted for it’s striking changes of color whilst growing and striking camo patterns. This sets it apart from most other varieties.  It seems to be slightly less cold hardy that the Ecuadorian Orange.  Images from Santa Cruz Rare Fruit Growers.

Native to the Andes of South America, this subtropical, juicy, sweet-tart fruit, with flavor notes of tomato and passionfruit, can be eaten fresh, used in desserts, drinks, smoothies, salads, soups, sauces, and more. It is an excellent source of vitamins A, B, C, E, & Iron, and ripens late in the year, when many other fruits are not available. The small tree grows well in containers, and prefers protection from strong wind and freezing temperatures. Hardy to USDA zone 9b. Aka Tamarillo & Tomate de Arbol.
