Tree is medium height or semi dwarf reaching 7 feet or so. Foliage is a striking dark purple. Plants with bright colored fruits are highly ornamental as well as delicious.uth America, this subtropical, juicy, sweet-tart fruit, with flavor notes of tomato and passionfruit, can be eaten fresh, used in desserts, drinks, smoothies, salads, soups, sauces, and more. It is an excellent source of vitamins A, B, C, E, & Iron, and ripens late in the year, when many other fruits are not available. The small tree grows well in containers, and prefers protection from strong wind and freezing temperatures. Hardy to USDA zone 9b. Aka Tamarillo & Tomate de Arbol.”
