Tamopan Oriental Persimmon aka Tamopan Giant (Diospyros kaki) fruit is extra large and round shaped with an acorn-like cap. Golden red skin wraps around tender, juicy, sweet flesh. This astringent variety is great for cooking and baking, or eaten when very soft. Show red-orange fall color is a bonus with this self-fertile variety.
Ripens in November. Â Requires less than 200 hours annual chilling below 45
Mature height is 20-30 feet with a spread of 18-25 feet.
Cold hardy to USDA Zone 7. Â Sunset Zones: 6-9, 14-16, 18-24, 26-33
