Desert Oasis Prickly Pear (Opuntia) (Organic)

Another cold hardy forage, vegetable and fruiting variety from Peter Felkers colleagues breeding program in Argentina. Vigorous plants are very productive of low thorn pads and fruit. Very fast growing and ornamental with beautiful blue green foliage and dark red fruits. A cross of Opuntia lindheimerii and O. ficus indica it is from the same breeding program as Desert Green. We obtained this selection from the National Arid Land Plant Genetic Resource Unit (NALPGRU) in Parlier, CA.
