Jonathan Apple (Malus domestica) is a heavy annual bearer, high quality when well grown. Cooks well. Medium to dark red. Crisp, juicy, moderately tart, flavorful. 700-800 chill hours below 45°F
What it lacks in disease resistance it makes up for in flavor! The Jonathan Apple Tree is often regarded as one of the most flavorful of all apples and has an excellent sweet/tart taste. The flavor balance is reminiscent of Lennon and McCartney and its precocious and prolific nature is as well. Tree is naturally compact and has long been favored by home orchardists.
