Help Planting Justice by Sharing the Harvest!

One of the greatest benefits of urban agriculture is the community that is built by  sharing the harvest each season. And this season, Planting Justice wants to empower  you to join our community and help Share The Harvest! That’s why we’re launching our newest initiative: Peer-to-Peer fundraising. Through the help of StayClassy.org we’re able to provide everybody with the chance to become an advocate for change by mobilizing their own networks on behalf of Planting Justice. Signing up and joining the fight takes only a couple of minutes and then you’ll have all of the tools you need to lead your very own food justice fundraising campaign with Planting Justice! And, we’ll be here every step of the way giving you new videos, photos, stories, and any support you need to make sure your campaign is successful!

Our goal is to raise $15,000 by the end of this month so that we can be ready for 2014 and make the biggest impact possible for our community! But, we can’t do this without your help. So, join the fight and Share the Harvest with Planting Justice right now!

Our Workplace Justice Series: the Abolition of the Prison Industrial Complex

Currently, 11 out of 22 of our staff members have been formerly incarcerated, and we believe our work at Planting Justice directly contributes to reducing the level of mass incarceration – we’ve offered employment to 18 different men returning home from prison, with a zero percent recidivism rate. And, despite our efforts, the Prison Industrial Complex still operates as a violent beast that is disproportionately stealing and enslaving people of color from our communities. Hear our take on the Prison Industrial Complex here.
