European Plums (Prunus domestica)
Hardy trees produce intensely flavored, sweet rich fruits great for fresh eating preserving and drying. Later blooming than Japanese plums, they set fruit more reliably in areas with cold and wet springs and as such are more popular in Northern climates. Pretty compact trees are showy in bloom and fruit and grow to about 15 feet tall. Most European plum varieties are self-fertile unless otherwise noted. We use myrabolan standard rootstock.
Hardy to Zone 5-9.
