Gala Apple (Malus domestica) is a yellow red stripped fruit that has very sweet, crisp, juicy fine textured flesh. Excellent summer dessert apple ripening around late August here. Keeps well and is a vigorous and productive annual bearing tree. From New Zealand. Needs less then 500 chill hours and hardy in Zones 4-10. Considered self-fruitful.
