Winesap Apple aka Virginia Winesap, Stayman (Malus domestica) is a variety of apple that has Medium round fruits with bright to deep red speckled skin keep quite well.  Yellow, firm, crisp flesh with a tangy flavor make this great for dessert, canning or juice.  Also nice at lunch!  Requires 800-900 hours annual chilling below 45°F.  Ripens from September into October. Cold hardy to USDA Zone 6.
