Northstar Pie Cherry (Prunus cerasus) is a dark red pie cherry has red flesh, is juicy, tender and meaty with a pleasant acidic flavor, excellent for pies and jams. Naturally dwarf tree only grows 6 to 8 feet tall, making it a good choice for the small garden. Very early ripening fruit is abundantly produced and has an easy to remove stone for processing. Needs 500 chill hours and thrives in zones 4-9. Hardy to -40 degrees.
