Java plum, is a flowering evergreen and tropical tree from the Myrtaceae family aka jambul, jambolan, jamblang, or jamun. It is native in India, Pakistan, Philippines, and Indonesia.  It produces raisin sized fruit that can be used for jam, vinegar, etc but can be astringent if not fully ripe.  This is a seedling grown tree.

This tree reaches from 30ft to even 90ft in height in its natural habitat. It naturally occurs in loams, clays and sandy areas. It can also tolerate a mixture of different soils such as loam, clay, sand, and compost. They may be grown in the warmer climates outside in the pots, but need to be brought indoors for the winter time. For the best growth, it requires full sun or partial shade
