A late ripening pear of major commercial significance in the US said to be 34% of the pear acreage grown. Round-oblong green fruit stores well and is delicious, tender, sweet, juicy and aromatic when ripe. Strong growing, hardy and productive tree originated in 19th century France.  Requires aproximately 800 chill hours, hard through zones 5-9. Certified organic.
