Also known as the Japanese Dwarf pomegranate it is considered hardier than other varieties Very popular for growing in pots or in borders for its profusion of showy red-orange blooms and pretty red tinged foliage that can be almost evergreen in mild winter climates. Flowers are followed by abundant small purple-black to green fruits that are delicious and juicy when ripe. Excellent variety for bonsai, it is hardy zones 7-10.
