This super ornamental grape variety has downy white spring foliage that is followed by deeply lobed purple foliage whose hues keep changing through summer into fall. A vigorous climber to 22 feet long it is a classic vine to cover an arbor, wall or fence, but can be pruned to fit smaller spaces as well. Very popular in Britain, it is loaded with tart purple grapes in the fall that are good for fresh eating, make a delicious juice and are the source for Claret wine. Hardy zones 6 through 9. Conventionally grown plant in 1 gallon pot.
