Willow or Narrow Leaf Sweet Bay has long narrow fragrant evergreen leaves that can be used for the same culinary uses as regular Sweet Bay. Handsome dark green shrub or small tree grows 6 to 10 feet tall and has beautiful yellow flowers in the spring followed by black berries. Smaller and more delicate than the specie it is a good choice for the small yard. Prefers a partly shaded area in hot climates. Though drought tolerant it responds well to some summer irrigation. Hardy zones 8-10.
