Allium ampeloprasum
Plant this hardy Leek and enjoy its tasty, nutritious young greens all winter and sweet, mature shoots in the spring.  Cold Hardy to USDA Zone 5, with mulching. This plant can be propagated by seed or if it is left in the ground for 1 full year it forms a garlic like bulb that then resprouts after the main stock dies back giving you 5-30 seedlings to dig up and transplant. An amazing plant indeed. Dormant in the summer months
