Autumn Magic Aronia (Organic)

Autumn Magic Aronia aka Autumn Magic Chokeberry (Aronia melanocarpa) combines the large fruit of selected aronia varieties with incredible ornamental appeal. Beginning in spring the plant is covered in profusions of tiny white hawthorn-like flowers which soon give way to glossy green leaves. In late summer the large clusters of deep purple berries begin to ripen and hang like ornaments from the multi-stemmed bush. Glossy green leaves turn to bright orange, red and deep purples before revealing the beautiful dormant buds. Berries are best made into jam, smoothies, or preserves but are also eaten fresh, though they are somewhat astringent. Any berries left unharvested provide winter interest and a valuable winter food source for wildlife. Autumn Magic is slightly more compact than other varieties growing to about 5 feet tall by 4 to 6 feet wide.

Extremely ornamental variety is also a good fruit producer.
